Our school provides opportunities for students, staff and parents to know and celebrate their Catholic faith. This is done through the religious life of our school. Members of our community experience a rich liturgical and prayer life, celebration of the Sacraments, faith formation, social outreach activities, and opportunities to share faith with each other and with youth from other schools in the Archdiocese.
At Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Primary School Gladesville (OLQP) we are continually guided by our Mercy heritage and its underlying Gospel values. We are committed to enhancing the Catholic identity of our community and bringing those within it to a deeper realisation and understanding of Mercy values. We strive to build a faith community marked by hope, strength and courage where we can open our hearts and minds to the presence of God. In partnership with parents, as the first educators, we work together to empower all to live life to the full in Christ. As part of the school’s leadership ministries, Year 6 are given opportunities to organise and facilitate various fundraising initiatives to support Church charities such as Mini Vinnies, Caritas and Sisters of Mercy Foundation. This commitment of outreach allows the students to live out the Mercy values of our school. Staff recognise the need to lead by example and regularly and take part in their own outreach such as serving food to the homeless.
