Learning and Achievement

By connecting to the real world of students’ lives, authentic learning enables students to become lifelong learners who contribute to society and the wider world as active and discerning citizens. Authentic learning is central to our work as Catholic educators because it promotes the continual growth and wellbeing of the whole person — spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.

Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Primary School (OLQP) Gladesville are encouraged to work at their own levels to achieve success. They engage in meaningful and appropriate activities tailored to their individual needs and learning styles within a supportive and flexible learning environment. Staff know their students well, enabling them to provide rich learning experiences that ensure engagement and challenge, with a focus on individual growth.

OLQP has demonstrated significant growth, evident in their NAPLAN results. Assessment is a key tool for challenging students and measuring success, with staff using a variety of assessments and regularly sharing results with both students and parents to set and achieve specific goals. Recent achievements include students representing OLQP in public speaking competitions and excelling in arts, dance, music, sports, coding, and robotics.
